Cookies-Oatmeal c most Variations by BDS
¾ C Butter (1 ½ sticks),at roomTemp
¾ Sugar
¾ C Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
¼ C Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
1 ½ C Self Rising Flour
½ tsp Baking powder/soda
Salt ½ tsp
3 C Oatmeal,quick rolled,uncooked
Preheat oven to 375 °.
Mix soft butter & white sugar,the slowly blend in brown sugar.
Blend in eggs,one @ a time then milk & vanilla.slowly mix
in flour & salt.+,a little @ a time,the oats.
Blend in raisins,pecans,choc chips,grated carrot/coconut,
if used.Mix well.Drop by tsp on greased baking sheet.
Bake @ 375 for 12-20 min ,until light brown.
Yields from 3-5 dz
Variations & Notes:
1.May + up to 1 cup:
Raisins,pecans,choc chips,peanut butter,grated carrot/coconut
2.May + up to:
¼ tsp.nutmeg,½ tsp.almond extract/1 tsp.cinnamon.
3.May use butter,Crisco/butter,may reduce to ½ cup.
4.May vary Brown / White Sugar ratio,May raise total sugar to 1 ½ C
5.May use h2o for milk
6.All purpose (Plain) flour OK if ½ tsp baking soda/powder +ed.
7.May vary oatmeal from 2 to 4 cups
8.Some sift flour,soda/powder,& cinnamon together in advance.
9.May omit: Vanilla,soda/powder,salt
10.Honey may be sub.d in equal amounts for either sugar.
11.¼ C wheat germ may be sub.d for ¼ C flour/oats.
