Access Basic Voicemail
 
To call the voicemail system to play your messages:
From your AT&T wireless phone, press and hold 1. For AT&T Wireless Home Phone, dial 1.
If prompted, enter your voicemail password. Any new unheard voicemail messages will begin to play.
If you don't have new voicemail, press 1 to listen to your saved messages. 
Messages play beginning with your first (oldest) unheard message or first (oldest) saved message.

Use the following keys to navigate through your messages.

You need to be logged in to your myAT&T account using the myAT&T app1 or from our mobile site to complete these steps. To reset your voicemail password: Online https://www.att.com/olam/passthroughAction.myworld?actionType=ResetVoicemailPassword Smartphone Tap Continue to account details then My plans, devices & features or tap menu mobile menu button, then My service & plans. Under Manage my devices & features, select the appropriate device. Tap See device options. Tap Reset voicemail password. Tap Reset. Tap Yes to reset the voicemail password. You'll receive a text message with a temporary voicemail password. After resetting your password, you won’t receive new voicemail messages until you create a new password. To create a new voicemail password, access your voicemail. You must use the wireless device or connected home phone that had its voicemail password reset. Follow the prompts to create a new 4-15 digit voicemail password. Don’t use or enter the temporary password. If you called the voicemail system, press the # key and hang up. You can use your Android, iPhone, or BlackBerry Visual Voicemail app while roaming on a cellular data connection2 to set up your new password. Otherwise, you must be in an AT&T wireless coverage area Additional information Troubleshoot voicemail password reset If you still can't access your voicemail after resetting your password: You must create a new password from the device that had its wireless number's voicemail password reset. You must be on the AT&T wireless network. You can’t change your voicemail password using Wi-Fi Calling. Access your voicemail from the wireless device and follow the prompts to create a new voicemail password. After resetting the voicemail password for a Wireless Home Phone, dial 1 from its connected home phone to create a new password. Turn your wireless device off and back on. Attempt to access your voicemail again. If you're unable to access Visual Voicemail, try calling your voice mailbox by selecting and holding 1 from the call screen. Verify wireless coverage To verify you have enough signal strength to connect to voicemail, view wireless coverage maps: Visual Voicemail requires a wireless cellular data connection. Some smartphones require a 4G LTE data connection in order to access and manage Visual Voicemail. Main steps Set up new voicemail To set up a new voice mailbox: From your wireless phone, call voicemail by pressing and holding 1 or the Voicemail key. If you have Wireless Home Phone, call voicemail by dialing 1 from your connected home phone. Select your language preference. Create a 4-15 digit voicemail password. Select your preferred greeting. Listen to the brief voicemail tutorial. If you hang up before the tutorial completes, it will play again the next time you check voicemail. Set up existing voicemail To set up an existing AT&T voice mailbox or to set up your voicemail after a phone or SIM card change: Call the voicemail system from your wireless phone by pressing and holding 1 or the Voicemail key. If you have Wireless Home Phone, dial 1 from your connected home phone to call voicemail. Enter your existing voicemail password (if prompted). Your existing voicemail greeting and messages will transfer to your new phone. Additional steps Troubleshoot voicemail setup If you’re having trouble setting up Basic Voicemail: If you forgot your voicemail password, reset your voicemail password. Make sure your phone is on the AT&T cellular network, not a Wi-Fi-only connection. Set up voicemail only from your wireless phone or connected home phone. Main steps Access voicemail from another phone Accessing your voicemail from another phone is handy when you don't have your wireless phone with you or when outside a coverage area. To check your voicemail messages from another phone: Call your 10-digit wireless number. When you hear your voicemail greeting, press the * key to interrupt it. If you reach the main voicemail system greeting, enter your 10-digit wireless phone number, then interrupt your greeting by pressing the * key. Enter your voicemail password when prompted. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages.
