I'm always excited when I hear from people who have used the ideas in my books, especially if they are using the ideas to make money.
It's also fun when people take the ideas and develop them further.
(It's not quite as much fun when they forget to credit me for my initial contribution, but I'm used to that.
) Over the years, I've used the material in Psychometry from A to Z in many different ways.
The information in that book could be called my secret weapon, as it has enabled me to perform strong impromptu mentalism anywhere, at any time, with no props, no pre-show work, no assistants, and no gaffs.
One person who has used and thought about many of my ideas is a good friend of mine in New York.
He is a well-known psychic, who also works regularly as a psychic entertainer.
Because of this, he needs to conceal his real name, and I'll refer to him as "Neal" in this book.
Neal is an extremely kind and sharing man.
He's also a brilliant thinker.
Whenever I spend time with him, I'm amazed at his knowledge, enthusiasm and zest for life.
Neal had been using the method of psychometry I wrote about in Psychometry from A to Z, and came up with an alternate presentation that immediately appealed to me.
It occurred to both of us that many different types of presentations could be done using the methodology of Psychometry from A to Z.
Neal immediately came up with many new ideas, which have become part of his regular arsenal of effects.
All of Meal's ideas on the subject have been presented countless times, and I'm grateful to him for allowing me to release them to the mentalism market.
As well as his ideas on psychometry, Neal is sharing a number of other effects that are part of his everyday working repertoire.
Without Neal's enthusiasm, and considerable powers of persuasion, this book would never have been written.
I wasn't planning to write another book for the trade, but Neal insisted I write this one, and now that it's finished, I'm glad he did.
Thank you, Neal! This book is unusual, as it not only contains ideas for psychic entertainers and psychic readers, but also contains suggestions and ideas on how to become a real psychic.
I hope this information will give you several extra strings to your bow.
You might choose one of these routines for your existing act, or you might develop one of them as an entire act on its own.
You might use some of these ideas to become the best - and best-known - psychic reader in your town or city.
If you're ambitious, the material in this book could set you on the road to fame and fortune.

I am forever indebted to William Larsen, Sr.
and Ken de Courcy, as it was their innovative ideas that introduced me to a system of giving readings from the stage that were satisfying for the person being read, and effortless for the entertainer to remember and deliver.
A routine called Tarot Telepathy was included in The Mental Mysteries and Other Writings of William W.
Larsen, Sr.
, published by the Genii Publishing Company in 1977.
It's a delightful two-person routine that includes a series of stock readings for people of different ages.
The person giving the readings is blindfolded, and his assistant cues him the sex and age of the person he is to read for.
There are six possibilities:

Young men between 20 and 30.
Young women between 20 and 30.
Middle-aged men between 30 and 55 Middle-aged women between 30 and 55.

William Larsen included sample readings for people in each of these age brackets.
Admittedly, there were only four readings given for people over 55, and I can't see them working today, except for extremely old people.
However, many of the other readings were charming, positive and helpful, and would work just as well today as they did when they were first written, more than sixty years ago.

I have never worked with an assistant, but used this system of giving readings in my stage act.
It played exceptionally well, but I found it stressful to perform, as everyone wanted a reading and I found it hard to think of things to say.

Fortunately, that came to an end when I bought a small four-page pamphlet called The Systematic Seer by Ken de Courcy, published by the Supreme Magic Company in 1976.
The concept he presented was to use the letters of a person's name, relating each one to a keyword.
Someone called John, for instance, might have a reading that included Joy, Openness, Honesty and Nurture, as these words start with the letters in John's name.
As long as the reader could elaborate, at least slightly, on these keywords, he could produce a brief reading with little effort.
I've seen this system recommended in other books, but think Ken de Courcy was the first person to put it into print.

Ken's small pamphlet changed my life.
Suddenly, I was able to do psychometry readings whenever I wished.
I was always prepared and able to give a reading, or readings, at a moment's notice.

Most of the time, I used this method with psychometry readings.
Psychometry is the ability to sense thoughts and pictures by holding an object that has been in someone's possession for a reasonable amount of time.
It would be hard to psychometrize a coin, for instance, as it will have passed through many people's hands before reaching the person who handed it to you for a reading.
However, if someone handed you a ring, or any other object that had been in his or her possession for a long time, you would, if you were psychic, be able to pick up feelings and vibrations from the object, and give a reading from it.

I also used the system in other ways.
If I was doing a card trick, for instance, and the spectator chose the ten of spades, I could immediately give him a reading based on the card (T,E,N,S,P,A,D,E,S).
In practice, the reading would be based on the first two letters of the name of the card, but I could easily extend the reading almost indefinitely, if necessary.
If I met someone for the first time, I could give the person a quick reading based on his or her name.
This has another hidden benefit, as I find it easier to remember people's names if I use them to give a reading.
It must be something to do with focusing on the name.
Quick readings - sometimes just a sentence or two - can turn a fairly humdrum effect into a miracle.

Consequently, for the last thirty years, I've been using Ken de Courcy's system in a number of different ways:
• when giving readings, especially psychometry readings, • as a stand alone psychometry act, • as a second act, or when I'm asked to do extra time, • and to add color and flavor to the other effects I was doing.

It wasn't until Neal shared some of his ideas with me that I realized I was barely touching the surface of the potential of this simple idea.
I hope the ideas in this book will excite and stimulate you, too.

KEYWORDS
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

In Psychometry from A to Z I listed the keywords I use for each letter of the alphabet, and included brief readings for each of them.
You might want to check out that book to see the types of readings I do for each letter of the alphabet.
The letters I use depend on a variety of factors.
At a particular function I might give readings based on, say, A to G.
I might use the letters that form the name of the corporation or group I'm working for.
I record this information in my diary.
This means I can easily look up what I did on the first booking if I'm booked again to entertain the same group of people.

Ideally, you should create your own keywords, and then create readings for them.
This is because you'll find it much easier to remember your own choice of words, rather than trying to remember mine.
Thirty or forty minutes with a dictionary will provide you with a lengthy list of possible words.
Here are some key words to help you get started:

A Ability, accepting, accountable, activity, adaptable, adventurous, ally, amazing, analytical, ascension.
B Bank, beautiful, benevolent, bless, blue, branch, Buddha.
C Catalyst, cave, chance, charm, coaxing, concentration, congratulate, conscience, contribute, courage.
D Demonstrate, desire, devotion, discipline, diviner, dreamer, dynasty.
E Eagerness, emotions, enchanting, enduring, energetic, enterprising, enthusiasm.
F Faithful, family, fashion, feelings, finances, foundation, friendship, fullness, future.
G Garden, gain, generous, gentleness, glad, good, gracious, gratitude.
H Habit, handsome, harmony, healthy, heaven, honor, humanitarianism.
I Idealism, identity, imagination, important, impress, impression, improve, impulsive, independent, innocence, invest.
J Jaunty, joie-de-vivre, jubilee, judgment, justify.
K Karma, key, kindness, knight.
L Labor, land, learn, legacy, letter, love, lucrative, luxury.
M Magnanimous, manage, marvelous, meditate, message, mind, mirror, money, moon, music, mystical.
N Naive, nature, need, neighbor, notable, nourish, nurse.
O Obstinate, opportunity, order, outspoken, overseas.
P Park, passion, peace, pendulum, philosophy, playful, plenty, poetry, profitable, profound, prophecy.
Q Quality, queen, question, quick, quiet.
R Radiant, rare, reflect, religious, remarkable, respectable, rich, romantic, rose.
S Savor, scholar, seed, sensitive, sex, significant, sincere, skeptical, solid, stocks, subtle, success, sumptuous, symbol.
T Talent, telepathy, temperament, tolerant, travel, treasure, trousseau, trust.
U Understanding, union, unveil, upright, utilize.
V Value, variety, vibrations, violet, voice, volunteer.
W Warmth, wealth, wedding, wisdom, wish, wit, work.
X X-ray, x-roads.
Y Yacht, year, yellow, yield, youth.
Z Zany, zealous, zen, zodiac.

Ideally, when you create your readings, you shouldn't make it obvious that you're using key words.
I'd be amazed if anyone managed to work out that you were using a word beginning with the letter A for the first reading, the letter B for the second, and so on.
However, to avoid any possibility of this, whenever possible I do not use the keyword in the reading.
I'll use a synonym instead.
The keyword is my mnemonic that reminds me of the reading, and the reading is based on this word, but it is not mentioned.

Here's an example from Psychometry from A to Z using O for Opportunity:
"I sense past feelings of restriction and limitation.
These have gone to be replaced with more positive feelings of expectation and ultimate success.
I see periods of calm contemplation, as if you were sitting under a tree with large spreading branches.
Sunlight flickers through the leaves casting ever-changing lights upon your face; each one provides warmth, a glowing sense of worth, and new horizons beckoning.
I see one in particular, something new, something different, something worthwhile - a brand new sense of direction, something worthy of your capabilities.
You are ready for a new challenge, so the time is right.
Take hold of this opening and follow it through.
The results will surprise even you.
"
You'll also need different readings for different occasions.
The type of reading you give at a Spiritualist church, for example, would not be the same as the readings you'd use at a 21st birthday party or a corporate function.
Obviously, your approach will be more light-hearted at celebratory events than they would be at a church service.
You can add humor, no matter where you are performing, but your one-liners need to be carefully chosen for the occasion.
You can use numbers as well as letters.
I usually use the numerological keywords for each number.

These are:
1. Independence and attainment.
2. Tact, diplomacy, harmony and cooperation.
3. Creative self-expression. Fun and laughter.
4. System, order, hard work and a serious approach to life.
5. Freedom, variety and change.
6. Home and family responsibilities.
7. Analysis, spirituality, wisdom. An unorthodox approach.
8. Money, investments and opportunities.
9. Humanitarianism.

You have a strong aesthetic sense, and would derive enormous pleasure from creative activities.
I don't suggest that you memorize these parrot fashion.
I never use exactly the same words twice, but the above is the gist of what I say.
Once you understand the basic meanings of the numbers you will find it easy enough to build up little pen portraits of your own, and these will be easier to memorize than simply learning mine by heart.

From QUICK READINGS WITH NUMEROLOGY (Lecture notes on Chinese Numerology) by Richard Webster 1979)

I've been doing numerology charts for so long that quick readings based on these keywords come into my mind whenever I see numbers.
If I'm staying in a hotel, for instance, my room number instantly becomes unforgettable, as I've automatically created a brief reading from it.

You can still use numbers, even if you have no interest in learning numerology.
All you need do is associate the numbers with letters of the alphabet:

1 = A
2 = B
3 = C
4 = D
5 = E
6 = F
7 = G
8 = H
9 = l

And, if you have a good memory, and get carried away, you could relate the entire alphabet to the nine numbers.
Of course, if you did that, you're halfway to becoming a numerologist anyway:

1 = AJS Independence and attainment.
A Ability, accepting, accountable, activity, adaptable, adventurous, ally, amazing, analytical, ascension.
J Jaunty, joie-de-vivre, jubilee, judgment, justify.
S Savor, scholar, seed, sensitive, sex, significant, sincere, skeptical, solid, stocks, subtle, success, sumptuous, symbol.

2 = BKT Tact, diplomacy, harmony and cooperation.
B Bank, beautiful, benevolent, bless, blue, branch, Buddha.
K Karma, key, kindness, knight.
T Talent, telepathy, temperament, tolerant, travel, treasure, trousseau, trust.

3 = CLU Creative self-expression. Fun and laughter.
C Catalyst, cave, chance, charm, coaxing, concentration, congratulate, conscience, contribute, courage.
L Labor, land, learn, legacy, letter, love, lucrative, luxury.
U Understanding, union, unveil, upright, utilize.

4 = DMV System, order, hard work and a serious approach to life.
D Demonstrate, desire, devotion, discipline, diviner, dreamer, dynasty.
M Magnanimous, manage, marvelous, meditate, message, mind, mirror, money, moon, music, mystical.
V Value, variety, vibrations, violet, voice, volunteer.

5 = ENW Freedom, variety and change.
E Eagerness, emotions, enchanting, enduring, energetic, enterprising, enthusiasm.
N Naive, nature, need, neighbor, notable, nourish, nurse.
W Warmth, wealth, wedding, wisdom, wish, wit, work.

6 = FOX Home and family responsibilities.
F Faithful, family, fashion, feelings, finances, foundation, friendship, fullness, future.
O Obstinate, opportunity, order, outspoken, overseas.
X X-ray, x-roads.

7 = GPY Analysis, spirituality, wisdom.
G Garden, gain, generous, gentleness, glad, good, gracious, gratitude.
P Park, passion, peace, pendulum, philosophy, playful, plenty, poetry, profitable, profound, prophecy.
Y Yacht, year, yellow, yield, youth.

8 = HQZ Money, investments and opportunities.
H Habit, handsome, harmony, healthy, heaven, honor, humanitarianism.

BDS Variation-Compilation

Think of the reading you could give from someone's house number once you've learned this.
If they lived at number 253, for instance, you could use the numerological keywords, and follow that by including B, K and T (from number 2), E, N and W (from number 5), and C, L and U (from number 3).
With practice, that's an easy thirty minutes of material, as you have twelve mnemonic "hooks" to base your reading on.
Most of the time, you'd use maybe three hooks, but it's good to know you have plenty of material in reserve, if necessary.

OTHER WAYS TO USE THE A TO Z SYSTEM

Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Now you know the basic system, here are some of Neal's ideas that use it.

IN THE GARDEN
This can be done outdoors, in a garden. Alternatively, you can ask someone to imagine he or she is in a beautiful garden. In a real garden, you can ask the person to walk around and stop in front of the flower that is most appealing to them. Let's assume the person has stopped in front of a violet. "That's an interesting choice," you might say. "Out of all the flowers in this beautiful garden, you selected a violet. It's obviously the flower that resonates best to you today. It shows that you are in a questioning state of mind. You might be reevaluating things, possibly looking back into the past and ahead into the near future. It's also a peaceful flower. The color - violet - is a restful, spiritual color. That's why bishops wear purple robes. You might just feel the need to relax and contemplate the mysteries of the universe. " Everything you said here relates to the color of the flower the person chose. Now you can continue, using the letters in the word violet. "I sense you are someone who tries hard to be honest and truthful (Keyword: Veracity. ) You possess significant psychic potential, but often hold yourself back in this area by failing to listen to that small, quiet voice within. You could develop that a long way, if you wished. (Keyword: Intuition. ) You are a positive person who tends to look on the bright side most of the time. You see the glass as being half full, rather than half empty. (Keyword: Optimism. ) You enjoy life, especially sharing special times with the people who are most important to you. (Keyword: Love. ) People enjoy being with you because you have a good imagination and come up with good ideas that you enjoy putting into action. (Keywords: Energy, Enthusiasm) You are grateful for the blessings in your life, and you're happy to share your resources with others. " (Keyword: Thankful) If the person had stopped in front of a different flower, you'd have created a reading using the keywords derived from the name of the particular flower. For a rose you might have used Resourceful, Optimistic, Sensual and Enthusiastic. Let's assume you're doing this indoors. Ask the person to close his or her eyes and take three slow, deep breaths. "Imagine you're walking through the most beautiful garden you've ever seen. It's a beautiful day, with just the slightest trace of a breeze. You can see birds flying overhead, and bees hard at work pollinating the flowers. You can smell the delicate perfume created by some of the flowers. You have all the time in the world to wander through this beautiful garden. Take your time, and let me know when you're standing in front of the one flower in this entire garden that resonates most to you. " "Yes, I'm there. " "Good. What flower is it?" "It's an orchid. " "Beautiful. Now orchids come in all sorts of different colors and shapes. Can you describe it for me?" "Its petals are a delicate pink, and the center of the flower is yellow and dark red. " "That sounds gorgeous. " This person has provided plenty of information for a reading. You have not only the name of the flower, but also three different colors you can talk about as well. You can do exactly the same for a group of people, either on stage or at an informal gathering. Ask them all to close their eyes, take a few deep breaths, and then guide them into a beautiful garden. Have them stop in front of the flower that is most appealing to them, and ask them to open their eyes. Ask each person in turn what flower he or she chose, and what color or colors it is. Once you have this information, you can easily give the person a quick reading based on that. If the group is a large one, the readings might be just one or two sentences long. This can be useful, as you might, for instance, have several people name the same flower. Not surprisingly, rose is the flower that is named most frequently. Fortunately, one person might say a red rose, another white, and a third person yellow. Even if they all say "red," you can give one person a quick reading using the letter R; and follow with O for the second reading, S for the third, and E for the fourth. We've already mentioned reading flowers in a garden. There's no reason why you can't do it in other places, either. Flower reading is extremely popular, yet you seldom see anyone doing it. If you're entertaining a group of ladies, ask them to bring a flower with them. Alternately, you might bring an attractive display of different flowers with you, and ask people to choose a flower. Naturally, you read these using the A to Z system on the name of the flower. What happens if everyone brings the same flower? That's happened to me on two occasions. All I did was ask each person what her name was before starting to "read" the flower. What happens if three people bring, say, a rose? For the first person you'll probably read R and O. The second person will get S and E, and the third person will get the last and first letters (E and R).
ROSE PETAL READINGS
Obtain some rose petals from a flower shop. If possible, obtain them in five colors: white, red, pink, yellow and purple. Place five petals into an envelope, and you're ready to work. It's a good idea to prepare several envelopes in advance to ensure that you're always prepared. You'll probably need them, as rose petal readings are extremely popular. If you're working for one lady, ask her to tip the rose petals into her hand and choose the one that resonates best with her at the moment. You can immediately give her a reading based on the color of the petal. If you're working for two ladies, ask one of them to tip the petals onto a table. Each lady then chooses a petal. This ensures they get different colors. If the second lady says she wanted the color the first lady took, tell her that it's not about the color, and the petal should be chosen using her intuition. Neal asks the ladies to cup the petal between their hands. He then gently places his hand on top to sense their "vibrations". He closes his eyes for a few moments and takes a few slow deep breaths before starting the reading. Once the reading is over, place their petal into a small envelope, and tell them to carry it with them for a week, as it will give them good luck and plenty of positive energy. Another possibility is to tell them to place the petal in their bath before getting in, as it will help them enjoy a restful sleep and give them plenty of energy during the day.
GAZING HEAVENWARDS
Any time you are outdoors you can ask someone to look up at the sky. Tell them you'll be able to tell their personalities after they tell you what they see, feel and sense when looking at the sky. They might say, for example, that the sun gives them a feeling of warmth or the clouds look light and fluffy. You can immediately use the A to Z system on "warmth," "light" and "fluffy". Even if they simply say a single word, such as "cloud," you're able to give them a reading.
PSYCHOMETRIZING CLOUDS
Here is another idea you can use whenever you're outdoors. Ask someone to point at a particular cloud. Ask why he or she chose that particular cloud. How does he or she feel about that cloud? If it were a private island up in the sky, what would he or she build on it? You'll find the person will enjoy the pleasant fantasy and come up with some interesting, imaginative ideas. Tell the person to look deeply into the cloud and see if he or she can sense a magical number inside it. By the time the person has done all of this, you'll know a great deal about him or her. You can use the magical number as the basis of a short numerology reading, and you can use the A to Z system on whatever it was he or she built on the cloud. Naturally, you should incorporate into the reading anything else you picked up from the person.
BIRDS AND BUTTERFLIES
You can do this indoors or out. Ask everyone to close their eyes and imagine a bird or a butterfly has just landed on their hand. Ask them to take note of the different colors the bird or butterfly has. Tell them that sometimes the bird or animal will say something to them. Pause for about ten seconds, and ask them to open their eyes. Ask each person in turn to tell you about their bird or butterfly. As each person tells you about their experience, give them a brief reading based on the colors of the bird or butterfly. If the bird or butterfly spoke to them, you can also use a keyword from that to enhance the reading.
OUT AND ABOUT
Unless you're miles away from anywhere, it's hard to avoid numbers and letters. Imagine you're watching a race, maybe a car or horse race, with someone. Look at the number on the car or horse that is closest to you, and use it as the basis of a reading. If you need more inspiration, look again and use the second number you see. If you know the name of the driver of the car, or the jockey on the horse, you can use that information as well to provide further information. You might be driving down a street with someone. Look at the nearest street number, and use that as the basis of a reading. In fact, walking along a street gives you plenty of opportunities to practice. Look at the nearest number, and create a reading in your mind from it. Repeat with the next number, and so on. With practice, a reading will come into your mind the moment you see a trigger, such as a letter or number.
LADIES GROUPS
This is an excellent way to entertain a group of ladies with no props and no pre-show work. Tell them that you're going to ask them to close their eyes, and will guide them through ten slow, deep breaths. After that, you'll ask them to imagine a movie screen in front of them, and you want them to notice the first thing that appears on the screen. Tell them that it makes no difference what they see. It might be a boat, a pencil, a zebra, or anything else at all. After explaining this, lead them through the exercise. Ask them to open their eyes again, and tell them you'll try to interpret their psychic journey. Ask the first lady to tell you what she saw. You interpret this using the letters of whatever it was they saw. If she said "boat," you'd use B, O, A and T. Naturally, the length of the reading depends on how many women are in the room, and how long you've been booked for. This is another popular topic with ladies' groups. Give a brief talk about dreams, and explain that they tell you a great deal about them, and their personalities. Ask them to encapsulate their most recent, or most memorable, dream in less than twenty words. It's rare for anyone to be able to do this, but you need to keep it brief, as some people's dreams go on for what seems like hours. Take a keyword from what they're saying, and use that to tell them about themselves.
GRAPHOLOGY
Ask the ladies to write down their dreams. This means you can use graphology as well as a keyword to tell each person about herself. A variation of this is to have someone mix up the papers before handing them to you. You ask the people to give you no clues, as you'll try to identify each person from the personality profile you are able to pick up from the handwriting. You read the dream out loud before apparently using the writing to tell the person about her personality. You then hand the sheet of paper back to the right person.
PSYCHOMETRIZING PHOTOGRAPHS
This can be done one-on-one, or in a group. Ask for the name of the person in the photograph, and then give a reading using the letters in his or her name. Neal says he often adds other information based on the clothing, hairstyle, and other details he sees in the photograph. If the photograph is a modern-day one, he also uses the colors of the person's clothes.
THE POWER OF TOUCH
Although this is simple to do, it may well be the most powerful idea in this book. It's an excellent reputation maker, and has been one of Meal's most carefully guarded secrets. It is totally impromptu, and can be done anywhere, at any time. Neal does this for ladies, but a female performer could have great success doing this for groups of men. Ask three or four volunteers to come forward and to hold out a hand. It makes no difference if they hold it palm upwards or facing down. Ask them to close their eyes. "In a moment," you say, "I'm going to gently brush your hand. Keep your eyes closed, and try to feel the sensation as I gently brush your hand. Notice the thoughts and feelings that come into your mind as I gently stroke your hand". As gently as you can, make three or four strokes on each side of your volunteer's hands. Once you have gently stroked each hand, from the wrist to the tips of the fingers, ask the volunteers to open their eyes. Smile, and ask them if they enjoyed the sensation. Look at the first volunteer. "I'm going to ask you what it felt like, and then I'll tell you a little about yourself based on the energy and vibrations I picked up. " Give them each a positive reading using A to Z on a word they used to describe the experience. Finish each brief reading by predicting something pleasant and positive in the near future.
Business Card Drawing
This is a clever idea that Neal uses to gain extra business. Ask people to draw something simple on the back of your business card. Give them a reading based on their drawing using the A to Z system. Make a few notations around or under the drawing, as you're giving them the reading. Give them the card when you've finished. You can guarantee they'll keep the card and show it to their friends. This idea is good for both one-on-one readings and group readings.
GOALS AND DREAMS
This is another idea that uses a business card and the A to Z system. When Neal gives people his card he often tells them to do something with it when they get home. "I'd like you to close your eyes and imagine you're looking at a gigantic movie screen. I'd like you to visualize on that screen a goal, or perhaps a dream that you'd love to have come true. See it as clearly as you can. When you feel ready, open your eyes and draw the image you saw on the screen on the back of my business card. Do you think you could do that?""Yes. I think so. ""Good, because there's more. Tonight you'll have a dream that relates to this goal. When you wake up in the morning, I want you to remember as many details as you can. Write them on the card. If a huge amount of information comes through, use a piece of paper as well. When you feel ready, give me a call, and we'll discuss it. "When they do, Neal has a huge amount of information to work with. Neal does this with groups, as well as individuals. When he does it for a group, maybe only one or two people will call him, but he'll know those people are interested, and may book a reading from him. Sometimes Neal does this at the end of a private reading. He doesn't charge for the phone follow-up, but uses it to differentiate himself from all the other readers in town.
PETS
Animal lovers always enjoy receiving a reading of their precious pet. Naturally, all you need is the pet's name, and you're ready to go. Pet the animal briefly first to pick up the psychometric vibrations, and then start talking. There is a lucrative career in this idea alone. I've found that once they've had a reading for their pet, the owners will want many more readings. Bear this in mind if you don't want to spend your entire life talking about people's pets. All the same, this is one way to achieve instant popularity.
OVER THE PHONE
This simple idea can be used over the phone, or in person. Tell the person, "I want to work with your energy. I'm going to think of one of the fifty-two cards in a deck of cards. Would you think of a card, too?" Wait a few seconds, and then continue. "I'm thinking of the five of clubs. What card did you think of?" Obviously, you'll be considered the reincarnation of Nostradamus if the other person was also thinking of the five of clubs. This does happen occasionally, and when it does, accept the accolades gracefully. It is more likely that she'll say she was thinking of the seven of hearts, or some other card. "That's a good choice," you say. "For this, we ignore the suits and simply use the numbers. I had a five and you chose a seven. Five and seven add up to twelve. In numerology, we need to bring this down to a single digit. Let's see, one and two make three. " You can then give a brief reading using the number three. If you are familiar with the basic meanings of numerology, as described in Chapter One, you'll be able to give a reading using the numbers three, five and seven. If not, give the person a reading using the letters T, H, R and E.
Killer,Q & A
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

In the next chapter, you'll learn what is possibly the most powerful and lucrative form of psychometry you can do. Neal calls it Killer Q & A.
This powerful presentation may well be worth a fortune to you. All you need is a handful of business cards, and you're ready to perform, as they say, "anywhere at any time. "
We'll assume for the purposes of explanation that you've been invited to entertain a small group of business people. When you arrive, you find about fifteen people waiting for you. They've probably sat through a boring presentation and are ready for something different. Naturally, the men will claim to be slightly skeptical, while the women will be more open to what is going to happen.
"Thank you for inviting me here today," you might say at the start. "Today I'm going to give you a short demonstration of psychometry. This is the art of gaining psychic impressions from something that has been in your possession for a while. We'll do this using your business cards. Please take out a business card and write a brief question you'd like me to answer for you on the back. I'll be answering the questions in front of the group, so please choose your question carefully. Now, does everyone have a business card?"Hand out your own cards to people who don't have their business card with them. You can also hand out pens or pencils to people who need them. While they are writing down their questions, you talk briefly about psychometry and how useful it can be in learning about people.
Once everyone has asked a question, ask everyone to hold their card sandwiched between their palms for a few moments. You explain that this helps them put their own personal energy into their cards. You should deliver the entire presentation with a light touch, but take this part seriously. People will make jokes while this is going on. Smile and enjoy them, but do not crack any jokes yourself at this time. Your persona should be that of a serious psychic who possesses entertainment skills and a good sense of humor. Allow about thirty seconds for this, and then have the cards collected. Casually mix the cards. Apparently, you are simply mixing the cards to pick up people's "vibrations," but in reality you're looking for one or two powerful questions that you can deliver at the end. Sort these cards to the back of the stack
You're ready to start. You now have everything necessary to deliver "killer Q & A. " You have the person's business card, which tells you his or her name, occupation, and level of seniority. The person's occupation is a wonderful clue, as it helps you determine the person's personality. A sales manager is likely to be more outgoing than an Accountant, for instance. Of course, this is not necessarily the case, but you've been observing the people and their interactions with each other ever since you arrived, so you are unlikely to be wrong in your assessments.
You can give a reading using as many letters from the person's name as you wish. This depends on the number of people in the room and the amount of time you've been allocated. The character analysis alone is impressive, but you're not finished yet!
Turn over the question and read out the person's question. If you know something about graphology, you can apparently answer this using an analysis of his or her handwriting. However, it doesn't matter how you answer the question, as you've already impressed them with your insight and intuition when you looked at the person's name and occupation. You'll receive a mixture of frivolous and serious questions. Answer the questions in the same vein. Give serious answers to serious questions and humorous answers to the frivolous questions.
The last time I gave this presentation, one person wrote down, "What is my name?" I was able to reply, "I hope you have a good supply of business cards, as your name is clearly written on the front. " I turned his card over, held it up and said, "Your name is Joe Bloggs".
A common question is, "Am I happy?" or "Will I be happy?" I normally reply that we're all as happy as we want to be. "If you want to be happy," I say,"Be happy.
" However, you need to be a little bit careful with this question. Most of the time you can deliver a fairly flippant answer, but you'll have been able to tell quite a bit about the person before starting the readings. If the person appears to be unhappy or depressed, you should give an encouraging answer. You might say, "I see you sitting on your own. It's dark, and you're lost in your thoughts. However, after a short time, daylight comes again, and you feel reinvigorated and full of enthusiasm. To answer your question, there is a great deal of happiness in your future. "
After answering each question, you start to hand the person's card back. As you do so, ask, "Would you like me to keep your card, so I can contact you if you want a more in-depth and longer reading?" If they reply "yes," keep it. If they say "no," return it to the person. I wear an expensive, tailored suit when working for a corporate market. If someone asks me to keep his or her card, I place it in my right-hand jacket pocket.
Some people will ask you to keep their card, even though they have no desire for a longer reading. This happens surprisingly often. I assume these people are networking and want to get their card into as many hands as possible. I place these people's cards in my right-hand jacket pocket too, but fold them in half as soon as they are out of sight. This separates them from the cards of people who would enjoy a full-length reading from you.
Don't make the answering seem too easy, but ensure that everything moves at a brisk pace. Your reading is of vital importance to the person whose card you are holding, but you don't want to bore everyone else. Start some readings almost as soon as you look at the card. Stroke a card or two to pick up the vibrations. Apparently find one card difficult and place it further down in the pile. This can be funny to the audience, especially if you've chosen the clown of the group.
Finish by thanking everyone for participating, and wish them all great success in the future.
If you don't do private readings you may choose not to collect people's business cards. However, they provide an excellent way to quickly build up a list of names. Instead of offering a more in-depth reading, you might ask people if they'd like to receive your occasional email newsletter. Stress the word "occasional," as most people, especially those in the business world, receive more emails than they can handle.
If you feel comfortable working in a corporate environment, this simple routine could be your ticket to success.
THE AMAZING PENDULUM
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

The pendulum is an amazing tool that can be used in many ways. It fascinates lay people, too, as most have never used one before and are fascinated that it works in their hands.
HOW TO USE A PENDULUM
Hold the pendulum between the thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand.
I like to hold the thread or chain about three inches away from the weight.
Experiment, and see what length works best for you.
If you're sitting down, you can rest your elbow on the surface of a table or desk.

Allow the pendulum to swing freely in a variety of directions.
This helps you get used to it.
When you feel ready, stop the pendulum's movement with your free hand.
Ask the pendulum, silently or out loud, "Which movement indicates a 'yes' response?" Wait patiently, and see what direction the pendulum moves in.
It might move to and fro, towards and away from you.
It could move from side to side.
Finally, it could move in a circular direction, either clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Once you become used to the pendulum, the movement will happen virtually as soon as you think it.
If you haven't used a pendulum before, it could take a minute or two.
Once you've determined the pendulum's positive response, ask it to indicate a "no" response.
Follow this by asking it to tell you the "I don't know," and "I don't want to answer" responses.

Now that you have four distinct responses, you can ask your pendulum questions, and it will answer them for you.
Start by asking questions that you already know the answers to.
You might ask, "Am I male?" If you are, your pendulum will give a positive response.
If you're female, it will give a negative response.
After asking a few questions of this sort, ask it questions you can easily confirm.
You might, for instance, ask, "Is Jenny still in the office?" If you receive a positive response, you can call Jenny's office, and find out how accurate your pendulum was.

In time, you'll be able to ask your pendulum any question at all that can be answered with one of the four movements.
When my children were young, they regularly asked me to use my pendulum to find lost objects for them.

PENDULUM CLEARING
Neal uses his pendulum in a wide variety of ways.
He has helped many people by showing them how to use the pendulum, and then teaching them how to psychically clear both themselves and their home.
This is not a mentalism effect, but a genuine psychic exercise that you'll probably want to use to enhance your own life.

You will need to print out the following text.
If you add your name and contact details to it, it will prove a valuable handout that people will keep.
Every time they do a clearing for themselves, they'll be reminded of you.

Obviously, you'll have to show people how to do a clearing for themselves.
You could supply printed instructions, but I think it's much better to personally show people how to do it.

Explain that they need to hold their pendulum over the text, and allow it to move in a circular clockwise direction until they have finished reading the text.
Tell them that they can read the text silently, but it's better if they say it out loud.
Once the clearing has been finished, they need to pause until the pendulum stops swinging.
This means the clearing has been accepted.

After they have done this once, they do not necessarily have to read the entire message again.
Instead, they can hold the pendulum over the text and allow it to move in clockwise circles.
Ask out loud for a clearing, and wait until the pendulum stops moving.
In practice, I like to say the words out loud each time.

Here is the text.

Feel free to modify or change it in any way that suits you and your particular beliefs:
Ask the Universal Mind to please search out and release any negativity that might be affecting my life in any way.
Please release any negativity from my body, mind and soul.
Please also release any negativity from my home and work environments.
Please release any negativity that may be trapped in the bodies, minds and souls of the people I love and care for.
Allow any negativity that I might experience today, no matter what I m doing or where I m going, to dissipate and lose all ability to harm or attack me, or anyone else.
I ask the Universal Mind to replace all the negativity with peace, light and divine love.

I ask for peace of mind, happiness and joy in everything I do today.
I ask for success in all my dealings with others.
Help me raise the spirits of those who need it.
Enable me to spread joy and happiness everywhere I go, so that everyone I make contact with during the day will feel better as a result of their dealings with me.
Please give me patience and understanding.
Let me be tranquil even in the most difficult of situations.

Please strengthen my aura, so that I may be impervious to any negative influences, yet open to anything that is good.
Please help me be free from anxiety, fear, stress and any other forms of negativity.
Help me create harmony and love everywhere I go.
Please strengthen my connection with my higher self, and with the Divine.
May I be surrounded by Divine peace and love all day and night.

The Amazing Pendulum
Ask the Universal Mind to please release any illnesses or disease in my physical body.
Please transform any illness or dis-ease into perfect, radiant health.
Please bless any food that I eat today, and allow it to nurture my physical body, my aura and my soul.
Please help me make today a day in which I make a positive difference to every person, animal or plant I connect with today.

I allow my pendulum to continue making clockwise circles until all dis-ease is transformed into radiant vitality and health, and all negativity is removed and transformed into positive energy.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Please do not dismiss this as a flaky, new age idea.
Try it on yourself first, and then try it on others.
You may find this the most useful idea in the book.
It works.
It's real.
Like me, Neal believes in the existence of the psychic world.

ENERGY AND PROSPERITY RITUAL
This involves sending good thoughts to your client.
Neal always starts this by saying, "Do I have your permission to work with you?"
Naturally, the client always replies positively.

"Good," Neal continues.
"I'm going to ask my pendulum to send happiness, healing and prosperity to you.
You'll find as a result of this, that many good things will come your way.
"
Neal makes the pendulum swing in a clockwise direction, and allows it to continue swinging until it eventually stops.

"So be it," Neal says when the pendulum finally stops.
He smiles at the client.

"I felt lots of good energy flowing your way while we were doing that.
Would you please call me whenever you sense or feel anything good is happening?"
This ensures that Neal gets the credit every time something good happens to the person.

THE PENDULUM AND A TO Z
This effect is intended for ladies' groups, but also plays extremely well one-on-one.
You will need to carry an envelope containing twenty or thirty lengths of string of different colors.
The pieces of string can be anywhere between eight and twelve inches long.

Ask the ladies to select a length of string that appeals to them.
Ask them to take off a ring and pass the string through it.
When they hold the two ends of the string between their thumb and forefinger, they create an impromptu pendulum, as the ring forms the weight.
Show them how to use the pendulum, and give them psychometry readings based on the color string they chose.

Neal would like to thank San Francisco mentalist Doug Dyment for his input into this routine.

MAY YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
You'll need several business cards for this effect.
One of them needs to be secretly marked at both ends.

"Is there anything you've always wanted to achieve?" you ask your client.
"Some desire or ambition that you haven't yet managed to attain?"
When the person admits that there is, ask her to write it down on the back of the marked card.
You turn your head and look away while she is doing this.
Once she has done this, hand her several other cards, and ask her to mix the card containing her desire with the others.

"That's good," you say when she's finished mixing the cards.
"Would you now tear all the cards in half, and mix them up again.
"
When she has done this, take the half-cards and spread them on the table.
Show her your pendulum, and explain how it works.

"I'm now going to see if my pendulum can find the two halves of the card with your goal written on it.
If the pendulum succeeds, it means your desire will come true.
Sadly, it won't eventuate if the pendulum can't find the two halves.
Let's see how it does".

Hold the pendulum over each half-card in turn, and finally separate two pieces.

"Your goal is your secret, so I don't want to see what you've written down.
Please pick up those two pieces, and see if they contain your goal.
"
Naturally, because of the secret marks, you are successful.

"That's wonderful," you say, apparently as amazed as the client.
"Focus on your goal, and you will achieve it.
"
You can stop at this point, if desired.
However, Neal has a useful addition, which provides him with a great deal of additional business.

"Tonight I'll work with my guides and ask them to help you achieve your goal.
I'll call you tomorrow and let you know how I get on.
"
When Neal phones the client, he talks generally about progress and advancement, and says he senses good energy about all her undertakings.
His guides are working with the client's guides, and, if she applies herself and moves forward one step at a time, she will ultimately achieve her goal.

NEAL'S TWO PENDULUMS
Neal always carries two pendulums with him.
One is for answering people's questions, and the other is for clearing purposes.
After Neal has answered someone's questions with the pendulum, he asks the person if he or she would like a clearing.
If the person responds positively, Neal takes out his other pendulum and uses that for the clearing.
Subliminally, this demonstrates to the client that Neal is a professional who knows what he's doing.

Before working with someone, Neal always asks his pendulum if he can work with this person.
If the pendulum responds positively, Neal will happily oblige.
However, if the pendulum provides a negative response, Neal will tell the person he can't work with him or her at this time.
Of course, if the person appears disinterested, Neal also says the pendulum is giving a negative response.
He tells these people to contact him later, if they are interested.
Neal knows that, if they're really interested, they'll contact him a week, a month, or maybe even a year or two, later.

EFFECTS WITH CARDS
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

FLIPPING CARDS
This is a wonderful way to ensure your client not only keeps your business card, but also looks at it frequently.

Let's assume your business card has all your information printed on one side, and the other side is blank.
Allow your client to see you write the word yes on the side that contains the information, and no on the blank side.
Ask your client to close his or her eyes and silently ask a question.

"Think of an important question," you might say.
"Something that can be answered with a yes or a no.
Focus on your question for as long as you can.
When it starts to fade, open your eyes.
"
When your client opens his or her eyes, ask, "Did you ever flip cards when you were a child?"
If the client has, give him or her the card to flip.
If not, give a brief demonstration before handing the card to your client.
To flip a card, place it on the four fingers of your dominant hand, and rest your thumb on the back.
Turn your hand into a vertical position, and flick your second finger with your thumb.
The card will fly out of your hands and land on the floor.
If it lands with the writing side uppermost, the answer to the question is yes.
If the blank side is uppermost, the answer is no.

After your client has flipped the card and received an answer, give it to him or her.

"You can use this card to ask one question every day," you can say.

Although your clients may not have a question every day, they will use your business card on a regular basis, and every time they do, they'll be reminded of you.
You may choose not to write on your cards.
Instead, you can tell your clients that the printed side is yes, and the blank side is no.

NEAL'S LIVING AND DEAD TEST
Effect: Neal hands someone one of his business cards and asks her to write the name of the first person she seriously kissed (or fell in love with).
He then hands her four or five more cards and asks her to write a random name on the back of each one.
The cards are mixed up, and then the stack of cards is torn in half.
Neal hands her the stack of half cards and asks her to place them name-side down on the table one at a time.
While she is doing this, Neal produces his pendulum, and uses it to find two half cards.
He closes his eyes or turns away while the lady checks that the two halves match.
She then turns them over to see if Neal has found the card containing the name of the first person she ever kissed.
Naturally, Neal, and his pendulum, have correctly divined the correct card.
The lady then cups the two halves between her hands and Neal holds the pendulum over them.
He says he'll call out the letters of the alphabet from A to Z, and the pendulum should react in a different way over the letter that starts the chosen name.
Neal sometimes works out the name letter by letter, but more usually determines two letters that way, and then uses his intuition or spirit guide to tell him the complete name.
Sometimes Neal dispenses with the pendulum for this last part and uses his spirit guide to tell him the name the person had written on the card.

Method: You need to mark one of your business cards at both ends so you can find them again later.
Neal uses a pencil dot, but sometimes he crimps the cards if he is performing impromptu.
Once all the cards have had names written on them, Neal asks the lady to mix them up.
Once she's done that, Neal takes the cards back and casually mixes them some more until he sees his pencil dots on the top card.
He mixes this card to the bottom.
He holds the cards in a vertical position to tear them in half.
In this position, the name is facing him and he can glance at it as he starts to tear the cards in half.
The rest is all presentation.

YES, MAYBE AND NO
This effect allows people to answer their own personal questions.
If you wish, you can psychometrize the final card, and give your clients a reading from it.

You hand a deck of cards to your client and ask him or her to think of a question while mixing(shuffling) the cards.
The question can be spoken out loud, if desired.
Once this has been done, tell your client to cut the deck into three piles.
The top three cards in each pile are placed face down to one side, and the deck is reassembled.
A final (10th) card is taken from anywhere in the deck and placed beside the pile of nine cards.

"You've been thinking of a question that's important to you," you say.
"The cards will now answer it for you.
If there are more than five red cards amongst these ten cards, the answer is yes.
If there are less than five red cards, the answer is no.
And, if there are exactly five red the answer is maybe.
Turn them over and have a look.
"
The pile of nine cards are turned over first, followed by the tenth card.
You give the client a psychometry reading based on the number of red cards, and the identity of the tenth card.
If the card is the Three of Spades, for instance, you can give a reading for the number 3, followed by as many of the letters in the word "spades" as you wish.

Neal has a nice extra touch to this effect.
He always gives his clients the deck of cards to take with them, so they can use it to answer questions whenever they wish.
You might think that if the clients learn how to answer their own questions, they won't need to return for readings in the future.
Neal has found that the opposite is the case.
The clients appreciate the gift, and use the cards every now and again.
However, as they are unable to psychometrize the final card, and also seek information that cannot necessarily be answered by yes, no or maybe.
You might like to place a sticker on the box with your contact details on it.

SYNCHRONISTIC DREAMS

Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Neal was reluctant to share this effect, as it is one of the strongest things he does.
Originally, he wanted to take this effect with him to the grave, but fortunately he relented, and allowed it to be included in this book.
You should save this one-on-one effect for special occasions when you wish to impress someone.
Ted Karmilovich said this effect was "brilliant".
I agree.
It's one of the most powerful effects in this book, and will be an absolute miracle for the people you do it for.
All you need is an impression device, an envelope and some flower petals.
Neal uses John Riggs' Hornet as his impression device.

You approach your selected person and ask him or her to write down a dream they'd like to experience.
It is preferable if this dream is something he or she has always wanted, but it could be something he or she imagined just before writing it down.
Walk away while this is being done.

Return when the person has finished, and hand him or her an envelope containing flower petals.

"These petals provide good energy for both of us," you explain.
"They'll help make your dream come true.
Fold up the paper and put your dream inside the envelope.
Seal it, and keep it with you overnight.
"As the person is doing this, explain that you will see him or her tomorrow to discuss their dreams.
Ted Karmilovich came up with a good idea for this stage.
He suggests saying, "I'll be tapping into your dream tonight while you're asleep.
" If anything unusual occurs in the person's house during the evening, such as flickering lights, he or she will credit you with causing it, thinking that you were tapping into his or her energies.

When you contact the person the next day, you start telling him or her about your dream, which amazingly enough, is the same dream the person had written down.
When you finish, you ask the person what he or she dreamt about.
Most of the time, the person will say that he or she dreamt the same dream as you.

"That's wonderful," you say.
"That means your dream will come true.
I've already attended to it.
"When Neal sees the person the next day, he has already written down the essentials of "his" dream on the back of his business card.
He gives them the card, as he knows they'll keep it forever, and will always remember him.

CENTER TEAR VERSION
This is a different twist on the same effect.
Instead of using a clipboard, you use the center tear and place all the torn pieces into an envelope.
Depending on which center tear you use, you glimpse the information in the process of tearing the paper, or as you place the pieces into the envelope.
Seal the envelope and hand it to the person who has recorded her dream.

"Tonight in your dreams, you'll visualize these pieces of paper melding together again, and we'll both work on making this dream become a reality.
"
When you see the person the next day, hand her your business card with your thoughts about the dream you had experienced the previous night written on the back.
She'll be amazed to discover you dreamt the same dream as her.

HOW TO GAIN EXTRA BUSINESS AS AN INTERPRETER OF DREAMS
Neal has shared this idea with a handful of people, and none of them have used it.
This is because it doesn't bring in immediate money.
However, Neal has found it a powerful way to gain clients who will pay for consultations on a regular basis, and talk about you with others.

"I sense that tonight or tomorrow night you'll have a unique dream," Neal tells someone.
He might say this during the course of a reading, or he might even say it to someone he's just met.
"I don't know why I'm getting this feeling, but it's going to be a dream that could be important to you.
Please give me a call if you have any problems in interpreting it.
It could be complicated and I'd be happy to discuss it with you.
Here's my card.
" As Neal gives them the card, he adds, "I won't charge you for this.
It's my pleasure.
"
Obviously, Neal could set up an appointment and charge the person for the dream interpretation.
He doesn't do this, as he believes offering something for nothing puts the potential client at ease.
It also makes him unforgettable, and the client will see him as someone who is passionate and sympathetic.
The client also knows that Neal is not greedy, unlike many fortunetellers.
Neal believes his generosity will be rewarded in time, even if he has to do a few free dream interpretations first.

In addition to this, even if the person never contacts him, she will have one of his business cards.

PAPERBAG PSYCHOMETRY
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Neal performs this effect all the time.
A good friend created it after seeing Neal work.
He has given permission for it to be included in this book.

The performer collects a number of personal items from people in different parts of the audience in a paper bag.
As he returns to the stage, he asks someone to join him and help with the demonstration.

"We've collected a wide variety of personal objects in this paper bag.
Unfortunately, we may not have enough time to psychometrize every item.
To make it as fair as possible, we're going to select the items in a somewhat random way.
"
The performer holds the paper bag open in front of his helper.
"Would you please reach into the bag and take out the first two items you touch, and hold one in each hand.
"
The assistant does this, and the performer focuses on first one object, and then the other.

"I'm getting a stronger impression from this item.
Please hand it to me, and place the other object back in the bag.
Thanks.
"
The performer psychometrizes the object that was handed to him.
Neal gains impressions by holding the object in the palm of one hand, while gently stroking the object with the fingertips of his other hand.
After a few seconds, the performer tells the audience the impressions he has gained.

"The owner of this brooch (or whatever it happens to be) is uncertain about a decision she has to make.
There's no great urgency, but she won't find peace of mind until she's made it.
I can see someone close to you giving helpful advice, but the final decision is up to you.
Fortunately, I see you doing the right thing, and it will bring you great happiness.
"The performer holds the brooch high in the air and asks, "Whom does this brooch belong to? You? Thank you very much.
"
The performer hands the paper bag to his assistant and returns the brooch to its owner.
He hesitates for a moment before handing it to its owner, and says:
"I don't know why this impression just came to me, but it's a message to take life more as it comes.
Most people worry about things that never happen.
If you could let go of some aspects of the past, live in the here and now, and look forward to the future, everything in your life will be smoother, easier and happier.
"
The performer returns to the stage, reaches into the bag and takes out two items.
He holds one in each hand and shows them to his assistant.

"I sense a strong intuition in you, and I'm sure you can do what I've just done.
Please, without giving it any thought, tell me which of these two items has a stronger vibration.
One contains more energy than the other.
Which one is it?"
The assistant indicates one of the items, and the performer returns the other item to the bag.

"Very good! I knew you could do it.
" The magician quickly psychometrizes the item.

"This watch belongs to someone who is always busy.
You have many interests, not all of which last for long.
However, they are important at the time.
You have a thirst for knowledge, and this keeps you forever young.
I see great joy and happiness ahead of you, as life will continue to offer new and fascinating insights until the very end of your life.
You are truly fortunate.
"
Again the performer holds the object up high and asks whom it belongs to.

"Who does this watch belong to?"
The performer returns the object and returns to the stage.
He takes the paper bag and asks his assistant to take out two objects, and hold one in each hand.
The performer senses stronger vibrations in one of them, which he proceeds to psychometrize.

This procedure continues, with the performer and the assistant taking turns at holding the bag and choosing the object with the stronger vibrations.

After he has psychometrized the final object, the performer pauses before returning it, and says:"I'm not a fatalist.
I believe we all possess free will, and have the ability to create the future we desire by thinking uplifting thoughts, making good decisions, and maintaining a positive attitude.
We all have the ability to create the future we desire for ourselves.
You can test this by sitting down somewhere on your own, and thinking about what you would like to have in your life five or ten years from now.
Work hard and make it a reality.
I do this regularly.
In fact, I did this exercise this morning.
I visualized myself being here with you all tonight, and I wrote down the first thing that came into my mind".

The performer picks up an envelope that has been sitting in front of the audience throughout the performance.
He opens it and takes out a sheet of paper.
He stands beside his assistant and says:"Would you please verify that what I'm about to read is what is written on this paper? Thanks.
The message is: This evening, at such-and-such a venue, the last item will be a pen.
Is that correct? Thank you very much!"
NOTES
You've probably worked out that this is a version of Roy Baker's PATEO force ("Pick Any Two, Eliminate One").

With an odd number of items, the magician chooses two items first, and then the spectator eliminates one of them.
On the second turn, the spectator indicates two items, and the magician eliminates one of them.
This is continued until two items are left, and the magician decides which one to eliminate.
With an even number of items, the spectator chooses two items first and the magician eliminates one of them.

The Pateo force is an excellent force when it's done well.
If it's done badly, the methodology becomes blatantly obvious to everyone.
Fortunately, in Paper Bag Psychometry the ultimate disclosure of the prediction is almost incidental.
The audience are primarily interested in the readings given in a group situation.
Professional readers are well aware of this.
If you have not given any readings before, this will come as a pleasant surprise.

It's important to collect an odd number of objects.
This ensures your prediction will be correct.
If you collect an even number of items, you will have to start with the assistant demonstrating her psychic abilities.
It's much stronger if you do this first, and then graciously comment that she has the ability, too, and allow her to make the second choice.
In practice, Neal always collects the items himself, and makes sure that an odd number of items are placed in the bag.

As Neal is collecting the objects he tells the audience that he's not sure if there'll be enough time to give everyone a reading, and he'll use a selection process to give readings to the owners of the objects that have the strongest vibrations.
It could be argued that it would be simpler to pull one item out of the bag at a time, but it is more dramatic to present the routine in the way Neal does.

The readings can be done intuitively, or by using the associations connected with the letters that make up the names of the different objects.

It may seem strange that the mindreader asks who the object belongs to at the end of the reading.
If he were really psychic, surely he'd know.
However, the audience are interested solely in the readings, and don't care whether or not you can psychically divine who the object belonged to.

Obviously, you have to know ahead of time what the final object will be.
You do this by choosing something that is reasonably common, such as a pen or key ring, and likely to be included in a selection of objects.
If you wish, you might choose to have two or three prediction envelopes, and produce the right one after the objects have been chosen.
If you do this, don't make a production of the envelope.
Simply take it out and place it down where it can be seen by everyone.
Few people will remember afterwards exactly when the envelope was placed in view.

You'll find the audience response to this routine is totally out of proportion to the methodology.

OTHER IDEAS
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Here are some impromptu ideas that play an important role in Neal's repertoire.

CUPID'S ARROW
I have seen Neal perform Cupid's Arrow several times, and have always been impressed with the reaction he receives from such a simple idea.
It works about eighty percent of the time.

"Before we start, I want to see if I can tap into your energy," Neal says.
"In a moment, I want you to think of one of three things - the moon, Cupid's arrow, or a star.
Don't tell me what it is, but have you chosen one? Good.
Now close your eyes, and mentally draw the item you chose.
Open your eyes when you've finished.
"
Once the person has opened her eyes, Neal gazes at her for a few seconds, and then tells her which object she drew in her mind.
The secret is simple.
If she opens her eyes quickly, the chances are she mentally drew the moon.
If it took a bit longer, she drew Cupid's arrow.
If it took longer still, she probably drew a star.

Although the odds are only one in three, people are amazed that Neal can apparently see the drawing they drew in their mind.

"You have excellent powers of concentration," Neal tells the person.
"I can certainly work with you.
Let's try another experiment.
"
On the odd occasions where Neal gets it wrong, he smiles and says, "That was my fault.
I started to see the (whatever shape the person mentally drew), but then my mind settled on (the shape Neal named).
ESP is not 100% reliable, but I still think we can work together.
While we were doing that I sensed another interesting aspect of your nature.
Let's try something else.
" Naturally, the next "experiment" will be something that works every time.

Neal takes chances all the time.
He doesn't care when "experiments" fail, as he knows he can always follow an apparent failure with something that succeeds.
"Everyone knows that ESP is random," Neal told me.
"If everything you do works all the time, people will think you're a magician.
If you fail every now and again, people think you're genuine.
Sometimes I fail four or five times in a row, and then finally succeed.
People are incredibly impressed with that.
It's like a trapeze artist who deliberately falls three times in a row, and then manages to perform the feat.
He could get it right every time, but deliberately fails, because the audience goes wild when he finally succeeds.
Magicians don't understand that, but I'm not a magician.
"
LAST ONE STANDING
All you need for this clever impromptu effect is three volunteers.
Neal lines them up in a row and asks them their names.
For explanation purposes, we'll assume the volunteers are Alice, Bonnie and Chris.
Any one of these can be chosen as the "target" In this example, Neal has picked Alice.
.

"Thanks for volunteering," Neal says.
"I'm now going to stand in front of you, so I can't see what any of you are doing.
At the moment, I know where each of you is standing.
So, would you please mix yourselves up in any order you wish.
When you've finished, you might be in the same order you started in, or you may have created a totally different arrangement.
Have you done that? Good.
"
Neal appears to think for a moment.
"I'm going to ask you to make some moves.
Please do this as quietly as possible, so I don't pick up any clues.
Please don't say anything, either.
I think I'll start with you, Bonnie," he says.
"If there's someone on your left, change places with them.
If there's no one on your left, remain where you are.
"
Neal gives them time to make any changes before continuing.
"That's good.
Now it's your turn Alice.
If there's someone on your right, please change places.
If there isn't, stay where you are.
"Again, Neal pauses to allow them to change places, if necessary.
"We haven't done anything with you yet, Chris.
If there's someone on your left, change places with her.
If not, remain where you are.
"
Neal looks thoughtful.
"Let's see.
Would the person standing on the left sit down.
That leaves two people.
Would you please change places.
That's good.
Would the person on the right sit down.
That leaves just one person, and that person is - Alice!"
Neal turns around to confirm he is correct, and finishes the routine by leading the applause for the three volunteers.

This effect may sound complicated.
A good way to practice it is to write the letters A, B and C on pieces of paper.
Let's assume you've chosen C as the target.
Mix the papers up, lay them out in a row, and make the following moves:
Switch A with the letter to its left.
Switch C with the letter to its right.
Switch B with the letter on its left.
Remove the letter on the left.
Switch the two remaining letters.
Remove the letter on the right.
Letter C will remain.

As long as you remember to use your target person second, the routine works itself.

Despite its simplicity, Neal "kills" with this.
Practice this with pieces of paper until you have the moves memorized, and then try it with three volunteers.
You'll be amazed at how powerful this is.

SECRET DESIRE
This effect can be done with one person, or with a group of any size.
Neal usually performs it when he's in a group of three or four people.

"I'd like you to think of something you'd like to have happen.
A secret desire.
We all have hopes and dreams, and I'd like you to think of just one of them, and focus on it.
You don't have to tell us what it is, if you don't want to.
For a couple of moments, think about your secret desire.
"
The mentalist pauses for about fifteen seconds, and then asks everyone if they have something in mind.

"That's good.
Now would you take some coins out of your pocket or purse, and hold them in your closed fist.
Keep thinking about your secret desire while you're doing this.
"Again the mentalist waits until everyone is clutching some coins.

"That's good.
In a moment I'll ask you to count the coins you're holding.
If you're holding an even number of coins, the answer is yes.
You will attain your secret desire.
Sadly, the answer is no if you're holding an odd number of coins.
"
This effect is extremely simple, but has a profound effect upon people.
Naturally, the people who are holding an even number of coins will be extremely happy.
What do you do with the people holding an odd number of coins?
Here are two possibilities.
You might tell them to write their secret desire on a piece of paper and place it into an envelope.
Place this under their pillow when they go to bed and see if they receive any dreams that will help them attain the goal, or choose something that would be even better for them.

Alternatively, you can give a coin to each of the people who chose an odd number of coins.
Point out that this makes their total an even number, which means this coin is a lucky coin.
Tell them to keep the coin, and rub it whenever they need help of any sort.
Suggest that they wait about a week, and then think about their secret desire while rubbing their lucky coin.
By that time they will know if the desire is something they really want, or was purely a fantasy.
If they still want it, they need to focus on their secret desire every day while rubbing the coin until the desire becomes a reality.

DAILY NUMEROLOGY READING
Neal uses people's watches to give them a daily numerology reading.
He asks them to remove their watch, pull out the stem so the hands can move freely, and to place it facedown on the palm of one hand.

"Good," he says.
"Now turn the winder to spin the hands, and keep turning until you feel it is time to stop.
" Neal waits until they stop, and then asks them to push the winder back in.
"Turn over the watch, and tell me what time you set the hands on".
"Four twenty-three," the person might say.

Neal adds the numbers together, and reduces them to a single digit, which he interprets.
In our example of 4:23, he adds 4+2+3=9.
If the time had been 11:47, he would add 1+1+4+7=13, and 1 +3=4.

Most of the time, Neal uses the final single digit to provide the person with a brief numerology reading.
If necessary, he can extend the reading by using each of the numbers that the person gave him.
In our example, the time was 4:23.
Neal would give the person a reading based on 9 (the total), but could also incorporate 4, 2 and 3, if he wished.

Some basic information on numerology can be found in Chapter One.

TAROT ON THE PATIO
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

As the title of this chapter indicates, this effect uses both Tarot cards and the Pateo force.
Neal has a unique way of utilizing the Pateo force, which to my mind, improves it enormously.

You need eleven cards from the Major Arcana.
Neal usually presents this effect with The Lovers card as his force card.
However, he also includes the Wheel of Fortune card, just in case he decides to use it instead.
Naturally, The Lovers card shows that the person's future love life will be good, and the Wheel of Fortune shows that the person will enjoy good fortune in the future.
In this description of the effect, we'll use The Lovers card.

Before starting the effect, make sure that your force card (in this example, The Lovers) is on top of the face down stack of cards.
Sit at a table opposite your client.
Shuffle the cards, but control The Lovers card by shuffling it to the bottom, and then back to the top, as many times as you wish.
Finish the shuffle with The Lovers card on top.

Deal the first card (The Lovers) onto the left-hand side of the table.
Place the next card to the left of The Lovers, and then deal the other cards in a row to its right.
This creates a row of eleven face down Tarot cards.
Your force card is second from your left, which makes it second from your client's right.

"We're going to be working with both of our energies," you say.
"I sense that you have good energy, which will make this much easier, as we'll be able to work well together.
Please hold your hands out, palm down.
That's good.
I'm going to move your hands around and see where my energy is going".
You place your palms over their hands and gently move them around over the cards.
This should look similar to the motions of a planchette on an ouija board.
When you feel ready, gently push their hands down onto two cards (not the force card).

"That felt perfect.
Remove just one of those cards".

The client takes away one of the cards and puts it to one side.

"Now it's your turn to guide my hands," you say.
You hold your hands out, palm down, and the client places her hands on top of yours and moves your hands over the cards.

"When you feel the time is right, push my hands onto two of the cards.
That's good.
Now it's my turn to remove a card.
" Appear to hesitate, before choosing one of the cards.
Naturally, if one of the cards is your force card, you remove the other one.
Neal has a nice touch he sometimes uses at this point.

If your hands are touching two non-force cards, he says, "1 sense you have an intuition about this.
Which one do you want to remove?" Of course, it makes no difference which one she removes.
Before continuing, say, "Usually, my hands help you select two and you remove one, and then your hands help me select two and I remove one, but I just felt a flash of intuition that you knew without a shadow of doubt which card to remove.
"
Continue with the procedure until there are just two cards left, and it's your turn to remove one.
Hold a hand over each card for a few seconds, apparently to feel the vibrations, and finally remove the non-force card.
Stare at the remaining card for a few moments, and then indicate to the client that she is to turn it over.
Lo and behold, she's ended up with The Lovers card, indicating long-term happiness and a successful and happy relationship with someone who will cherish and love her forever.
This effect uses touch, which has an incredibly powerful effect on the volunteer.

You will have noticed that, unlike most effects using the Pateo force, this effect does not involve a prediction.
All you are doing, apparently, is to combine two people's energies to discover a single card that reveals the volunteer's future.
As far as the volunteer is concerned, the outcome was totally random, and she would have ended up with a different card if the vibrations between her and the mentalist had been even slightly different.

THE PATEO FORCE
The word Pateo comes from "Point At Two, Eliminate One.
" It was invented by Roy Baker who described it in his book Bakers Bonanza, published by Harry Stanley in 1968.
If you start with an odd number of cards, as we did in the above effect, the magician makes the first choice as to which card should be eliminated.
If you start with an even number of cards, the volunteer makes the first choice.
I think an even number of cards is better for this effect, as it enables you to show the client what to do when it's her turn.

A LITTLE BIT BIZZARE

Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Neal uses this strange piece of bizarre magic to help people.
He has met many people who feel intimidated, threatened, or even cursed, by someone.
This routine helps them eliminate any harm this person might be doing to them.

You'll need an impression board (John Biggs' Hornet is perfect for this), and a voodoo doll.

Neal hands the client the impression pad and asks them to write a brief message to the person who is upsetting them.
Once they've written it, Neal tells them to fold it up and place it to one side while he gives them a reading.
During the reading, he reads the impression.

Towards the end of the reading, he excuses himself and returns with a voodoo doll and a pin.
He asks the client to pin the message he or she wrote to the doll's stomach.

"Take the doll home," he says.
"Place it in a drawer or cupboard overnight, and give me a call in the morning.
"When the client phones him the next day, Neal says,
"Remove the pin and your question.
Look underneath it.
".

Beneath the client's sheet of paper there is another folded sheet with an answer to the message he or she wrote.

Neal says that clients' frequently freak out when they read the reply.

"The spirits have spoken," Neal tells them.

Naturally, the reply mentions the problem in general terms, and says that the person no longer has any power to affect them in any way.

Neal has a variety of methods for this effect.
He keeps the voodoo doll in a different room next to a number of prewritten answers.
He chooses the answer that is most applicable, folds it, and keeps it loosely in one hand as he returns with the voodoo doll.
He hands the client the pin, and picks up the folded piece of paper he or she wrote on.
In the process of placing it on the voodoo doll's stomach, he places his answer behind the question, and allows the client to pin them to the doll.

Neal has also written the answer on the doll with red ink, and then covered the body of the doll with a black cloth.
The message is not seen until the client removes the message and the cloth while speaking to Neal on the phone.

Another method is to slip the folded piece of paper containing the reply under the cloth before returning to the client with the doll.

Although this seems like black magic, it is actually the opposite, as Neal uses it to remove hexes, curses, and a variety of other problems that have caused his clients pain and suffering.

THE REAL THING
Preface Intro Keywords A-Z Uses Killer Q&A PendulumCardEffectsSynchronisticDreamsPaperBadPsychometryIdeasPatioTarotBizarreRealThingConclusion

Most of Meal's work is genuine.
He believes implicitly in the psychic world, and he loves helping others.
Neal is one of the most passionate people I've ever met, and his enthusiasm and love for everyone is apparent in everything he does.

Here are some of Neal's most treasured secrets.
Neal has made a great deal of money with these ideas.
You'll be able to do the same, if you use them wisely.

THE HEART CONNECTION
This is Neal's method for doing genuine psychometry.
He has been using this successfully for more than thirty years.
Neal holds an object belonging to his client, closes his eyes, and imagines a cord of energy connecting his heart to his client's heart.
He keeps his eyes closed for about two minutes, and remains receptive to any thoughts and emotions he receives.
If he feels his mind is wandering, he visualizes the cord of energy again.
After two minutes, Neal opens his eyes and tells his client the information he received.
If the client responds positively to the information, Neal closes his eyes again and waits for any further information that may come to him.
Meal's advice for anyone trying this for the first time is to follow your hunches and feelings.
Naturally, you'll be wrong at times, but you'll discover that most of the time you'll be correct.

Of course, there are occasions when Neal receives nothing.
When this happens, he uses Psychometry from A to Z.

QUESTION ANSWERING
People usually approach Neal when they have problems of various sorts.
This is how he answers their questions.
First of all, if he doesn't already know it, he'll ask them to tell him their name.
He then asks,"What is your question?" People are happy to tell him their questions, as they want to hear how he answers them.
No one with a concern ever says, "You're the psychic.
You tell me.
"
1.
After learning the question, Neal closes his eyes and relaxes.
Once he's fully relaxed, he asks the universe to tell him what he needs to know about the person and his or her question.
Neal almost always receives a response from the universe when he asks for it.
Fortunately, on the rare occasions when he receives no response, he is able to answer the question using Psychometry from A to Z.

PROBLEM SOLVING
"I sense you have a problem," Neal says to someone.
As most people have problems of different sorts, it's rare for someone to say "no".

If the person says "no," Neal replies, "That's good.
You're very fortunate.
I like to help people.
I was brought up to help my fellow neighbors.
Just in case you ever have a problem, I'd like to give you a powerful affirmation, if that's okay with you".
It's rare for anyone to turn Neal down, when he offers them a free affirmation.
Neal writes it on the back of his business card, and suggests the person reads it at least once a day.
Even if the person fails to do this, he or she has one of Neal's business cards.

Usually, the person admits that he or she has a problem.

"I sensed that," Neal says.
"I could tell that something is bothering you.
I like helping people.
It's the way I was brought up.
Would you like me to give you a powerful affirmation that will help you resolve your problem?"Here is the basic affirmation that Neal uses:
"I release all negativity, and allow the love and light of the universe to flow through me".
This affirmation can be personalized in many different ways.
If someone is having financial problems, for instance, Neal might write:
"I release my financial problems, and allow the love and light of the universe to flow through me".

Of course, not everyone is willing to tell Neal about his or her problem.
When this occurs, Neal writes on the back of his business card:
"I release all (this is followed by a blank space for the person to write in his or her concern) and allow the love and light of the universe to flow through me.
"
Neal suggests that the person reads the affirmation every morning and evening, and whenever he or she is feeling down.
"It will give you a good lift of energy," he tells them.
"In effect, this affirmation is a blessing that will help you in many, many different ways".

It makes no difference if the person has a problem, or not.
Either way, he or she ends up with one of Neal's business cards.
Imagine how busy you'd be if you handed out several thousand cards a year.
Business cards cost virtually nothing, especially if you order them from vistaprint.com, yet they have the potential to keep you busy beyond your wildest dreams.
This single idea could be worth a million dollars to you.

HOW TO HELP YOUR CLIENTS MEET THEIR SPIRIT GUIDE
This is a valuable addition to any reading.
Neal tells his clients, "When you go to bed tonight, just before you fall asleep, you're going to go on a journey to meet your spirit guide.
No matter what questions you may have, he'll be able to answer them for you.
After you've done this once, you'll be able to do it whenever you want.
I want to help you expand your intuitive energy so you can tap into all the powers you were born with.
I also want you to meet your spirit guide.
This is my gift to you.
I'll try to help you by psychically connecting with you tonight"
This means that Neal will receive credit for anything that happens during the night.
He then explains what will happen when the person goes to bed.

"When you close your eyes, relax as much as you can.
When you feel fully relaxed imagine that you're walking through a beautiful forest.
You admire the beautiful trees and all the animals you see.
They're all friendly, and you pause and talk to some of them.
At the far end of the forest you come out into a clearing and see a river.
There's a bridge over the river that you walk across.
On the other side of the river you see a lovely cottage sitting in a beautiful garden full of colorful flowers.
You walk up the path to the front door, and open it.
Inside the cottage you see a man sitting on a chair.
He is your spirit guide.
He smiles at you and beckons you to enter.
You feel a sense of peace and tranquility, and you know you can ask your spirit guide anything you wish.
He will answer any questions you have.
You can stay with your spirit guide for as long as you wish.
Before leaving, you thank him for his help and advice, and then return home by crossing the bridge and walking through the forest again.
"
Neal finds that about 70% of his clients do converse with their spirit guides by doing the exercise.
He tells the other 30% to call him, so they can discuss the matter further.
If someone is completely unsuccessful, Neal gives him or her other exercises and activities to do.
All of these are included in this book.

Neal wants his clients to remain in contact with him.
This, and the other exercises, enables him to do this.
However, he is not doing this solely for financial reasons.
Neal is extremely ethical.
All of the material in this book needs to be used carefully and wisely.
Consequently, Neal is careful never to take advantage of his clients.
He genuinely wants to help them, and believes that any good he does will produce good things in return.

NEAL'S GUIDES
This is another method Neal uses to help his clients with their problems.
He tells them that he will ask his guides to help him work on their problem during the next seven days.

"Much of this will happen while you're asleep," he says.
"However, you might feel something, or receive some impressions, while you're going about your everyday life.
Just know that my guides and I will be with you all the way.
Would you call me in seven days and tell me how things worked out?"Almost always, Neal's clients report an improvement when they call him.
This is because they automatically become better at dealing with their problems once they know that Neal and his guides are working with them.
It may simply be psychological, but it works.
When they call Neal, they also tell him about any positive event that occurred during the week.
Naturally, Neal gets credit for this, as well.

Of course, this doesn't work all of the time, and Neal sometimes receives calls from people who have not noticed any improvement.

"It looks as if it's going to take a bit more work than I expected," Neal tells them.
"That's not a problem.
My guides and I will focus on your problem for another week.
Would you call me again in seven days?"
This gives Neal's guides, and the hopefully more positive thoughts of his clients, another week to work on the problem.

HUMMING
The healing effects of music are well known.
This is how Neal explains this to his clients.

"Our brain likes to absorb high frequency sounds, as they stimulate and increase our energy Low frequency sounds, such as those produced by TVs and airplanes, decrease our energy.
You probably learned to hum when you were a child, but do you ever hum now? (Neal pauses for a response, and then continues.
)Humming creates a simple sound that is full of all the necessary frequencies to make you feel good and full of energy.
Humming makes you feel happy.
As well as this, humming stimulates the inner ear and increases your sense of balance, which helps coordination and posture.
All of this makes any movement, such as walking, running or playing sport easier.
Humming decreases stress and calms your nervous system.
It has been proven to lower your blood pressure.
It increases oxygenation and blood flow.
(For male clients, Neal sometimes adds: "Humming has even been called the poor man's Viagra.
")It strengthens your entire immune system.
Humming has a profound effect on our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
"Neal pauses to allow his clients time to ask questions, or make a comment.
After answering these, Neal continues:
"You can hum anywhere.
If you do a quiet gentle hum, no one else will hear it.
Of course, you can also hum in the shower, while driving to work, when out walking, or in a bus or train.
Please remember to do this.
It will help every single aspect of your life.
"
Neal has had wonderful feedback from his clients who have experimented with humming.
Without exception, they reported numerous improvements in their lives as a result of humming.

As this idea is so simple, you might be tempted to read this, and then forget all about it.
That would be a mistake, as this technique is extremely powerful.
If you have any doubts at all, try it yourself for a week or two.
After experimenting with it yourself, I'm sure you'll start recommending it to your clients.

It's worth pointing out, that this is advice that none of your clients will have heard about from any other psychic consultants.
It's yet another way to separate yourself from your competition.

EXPRESS POSITIVITY EVERYWHERE YOU GO
Neal is a strong believer in the power of positive energy.
He also believes that every time he says something nice or positive to someone else, that sooner or later the universe will repay him.
Neal is incredibly blessed, as he uses this technique many times every day.

Often, Neal will walk up to a complete stranger and say, "I see good things heading your way.
All sorts of things you've always wanted.
"
Depending on the response he gets, Neal will elaborate by mentioning money, promotion or maybe travel.
He'll also say, "I can see this happening soon, probably in the next three months".
Neal pauses, and then concludes by saying, "And why not? You deserve the good things life has to offer.
After all, you're a child of the universe, and the universe loves you.
"
Although this simple technique gains him a great deal of business, Neal does it because it genuinely helps the person, whether or not they ever book him for a reading.
If they show interest, Neal will give them a business card, but it doesn't worry him in the least if they don't ask for one.
After all, the universe is rewarding him for his actions.
Neal also likes the fact that his words provide help and encouragement, which can motivate people to achieve their goals.

CONCLUSION
Much of Meal's work involves genuine intuition.
When talking to people about his creations he suggests they should follow their first impression, as it is likely to be correct.
If you happen to be wrong, repeat the experiment, but this time do whatever is necessary to ensure you are correct.

Here's an example.

Ask someone to mix a deck of playing cards and then hand you any three cards.
Display the three cards and ask them to think of any one of them.
Place the cards face down on a table, and use a pendulum or one of your hands to apparently sense vibrations and locate the card they were concentrating on.

To do this, all Neal does is notice which of the three cards the person focuses on while he is displaying them.
He then casually mixes the cards in his hands, and deals them onto a table.
He controls the card he thinks they were focusing on, and consequently knows which one it is.
After using his hand or the pendulum, he picks it up.
Neal finds that he is correct at least 70% of the time.

This is the script he uses:
"I want to see if I can work with you.
Let's try an experiment to see how attuned we are.
Please mix these cards, and hand any three of them to me.
Good.
I'll hold them so you can see them all clearly.
In your mind choose one of them.
Focus on it.
Keep thinking of that card.
I'll mix the cards again and place them on the table.
Keep thinking of your card, and hopefully I'll be able to locate it.
"
Neal picks up the card he thinks is correct and shows it to the person.

If he's correct, he says, "You are amazing! Your thoughts led me straight to your card.
I can certainly work with you.
"If Neal picks up the wrong card, he turns over the remaining two cards and asks which one it was.
He shakes his head.
"That was my mistake, not yours.
I was attracted to that card, but somehow the other card felt slightly stronger.
I'm pretty sure we can work together.
Shall we try another test, just to make sure?"
In the next test, Neal does something that he knows will work.
He might repeat the first test, but this time he'll shuffle the cards himself and force the first card on the person.
She concentrates on this card.
This card is apparently mixed with two other cards, and Neal can not only locate the card, but can also identify it, if he wants to.
In practice, he usually gets a feeling if it's a black or red card, rather than try to be too perfect.

Although it's good to have this experiment succeed the first time, Neal thinks it can seem more powerful if it fails the first time.
It makes him seem more genuine and "real," because a magician would always get it right.

Because of this, apparent failures don't bother Neal.
He doesn't expect to be successful all of the time.
Magicians might find this strange, but Neal knows this adds credibility to everything he does.

ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE
Neal is a positive and enthusiastic person.
Consequently, it's natural for him to accentuate the positive everywhere he goes.
He applies this to private readings, too.
His rule is, "never, ever say anything negative to a client in a reading.
" Naturally, it's easy to say positive things to someone who looks active and healthy, but what does Neal say when he reads for someone who appears gravely ill or looks totally depressed? He can't say, "Your future looks bright.
I can see you traveling to exciting places, etc.
" Neal has to be cautious, careful and helpful in what he says.
Consequently, he'll say something along the lines of:
"I see all things will sort themselves out.
Everything will work itself out with the flow, and all matters will be handled by the universe.
The universe is guiding you all the way to make the right choices.
It will guide you with a positive flow, which will prove rewarding to you.
Just go with the flow and the universe will love you.
It will nourish you and look after you from this moment on.
"
Neal admits that it isn't easy to know what to say in difficult situations.
He deliberately doesn't use a memorized script, as he'd rather rely on his heart to help him say the right thing.

"Sometimes they don't want to hear," he told me.
"But at other times, people hold me in their arms while thanking me.
"
NEAL'S BLESSING RITUAL
This is an idea that Neal has used for many years.
After finishing a private reading, Neal asks the client if he can give him or her a blessing.
No one has ever refused this.
Why would anyone refuse a blessing? It's a wonderful gesture.
Neal strongly believes that when he gives a blessing to a fellow human being, he is also being blessed.
Obviously, any blessing or prayer you make must be done with sincerity.
Pause for a moment to still your mind before saying the blessing.

Neal holds his hands above the client's head and closes his eyes while saying a prayer or blessing.
What he says varies, depending on the person and the situation.

Here's an example:
"I call on Divine Light to bless and assist (person's name) in every area of his/her life.
Please bless him/her with good health, happiness, peace and love.
Please ensure a speedy resolution of his/ her problems, and allow him/her to move forward with confidence, knowing that he/she is surrounded and protected by your strength, understanding and love.
Thank you.
"
As well as helping both you and your client, saying a blessing will make you unforgettable.

If you learn and use some of the ideas from this book, Neal is confident that you will become unforgettable, too.
