Taylan, when the climate shifts to a colder phase, crop prices will rise across the board. This will include, Wheat, Coffee, Sorghum, Oranges, all of the trees and plant species susceptible to cold. Camelina and Lesquerella should be hardier to the cooler temps. ?
All to do with jupiter isn't it. Jupiter has a 11yr orbit and approximate every 400 yrs jupiter gets as close as asteroid belt...?
Dr. Nessie The figures and statements made in this video are incorrect.
The climate changes due to many factors both external like Milankovitch Cycles and changes in solar irradiance and internal like volcanic activity and greenhouse gases .
The total forcing (warming) caused by human activity is currently around 2.821 Watts per square meter versus solar at 0.021 Watts per square meter and volcanic at -0.099 Watts per square meter (reference below).
Of the anthropogenic forcings, greenhouse gases (of which CO2 is the largest contributor) are dominant at 3.176 Watts per square meter (3.176 is reduced to 2.821 by the cooling effect of anthropogenic aerosols that reflect light and deforestation that raises the reflection of the planet's surface).
Solar irradiance simply does not make a big enough contribution to alter the current warming trend globally. Also, there is no downward trend in temperatures during the Holocene .
The Holocene figure that you use is incorrect.
It is based on Dr. Richard Alley’s work (referenced below) with the GISP2 dataset.
The GISP2 dataset actually ends in 1855 not the present.
Another dataset from around 30km away from GISP2 in Greenland that does continue to near present is the GRIP
It shows warming of around 1.5 degrees Celsius during 1855-2009.
This means that today’s indication on your figure should be significantly higher. The present temperature at this general location in Greenland is actually warmer than many other time periods during the Holocene at this location. Of course, this figure is only for one location in Greenland.
If we look globally the average temperature increase since 1860 is around 1 degree Celsius.
Current global temperatures are warmer than at least 90% of global Holocene temperatures (referenced below).
The long term global trend of increasing temperature continues. 2015, 2016, and 2017 are the three warmest years on record globally (reference below).
The dominant radiative forcing (warming mechanism) over the last 150 years has been anthropogenic CO2 and this will continue to warm the global atmosphere almost irrespective of solar activity
Abrupt cooling Europe ,with increase humidity,Especially windiness coincided sustained reduction solar activity 2800 years ago.
