Introduction
The first and foremost secret of experts in cold reading is the fact that Cold Reading is not Cold.
The expert cold reader is actually gathering a good deal of information about the client between the time the client sits down and the reading begins.
In this series of monographs a complete system of cold reading will be presented.
The concepts presented here are from a large variety of sources, beginning with the Course in Psychic and Crystal Reading published in 1926 for "Professional Spirit Mediums" through Robert Nelson, to the current expert readers such as Ron Martin and Jon Riggs.
Although this series will present a complete system of cold reading, the student would be well advised to read any publication authored by Ford Kross, Brother Shadow, Jon Riggs, Ron Martin or Richard Webster.
And now, On to the good stuff.
At First Sight
As the client approaches, you will get your first clue toward procedure from the body type.
Is the client fat (endomorph), muscular (mesomorph), or very thin (ectomorph)? Or perhaps they fall somewhere in between.
Getting Started If all of this appears too complicated, here is an easy way to get started.
There have been many tick sheets designed in the past (astrology, palmistry, graphology, etc.), but the one one the following page is based upon body-type.
Just judge the body type, and then begin to tick off the sheet as you give your reading in the following manner:

Ectomorph, use the numbers that end in 1, 4 and 7.

Mesomorph use the numbers that end in 2, 5,and 8.

Endomorph, use the numbers that end in 3, 6 and 9.

The numbers that end in zero give very negative traits that nobody gets.
Meso-Endo morph randomly use both sets of numbers with a little emphasis on the dominant type numbers.
Meso-Ecto morph randomly use both sets of numbers with a little emphasis on the dominant type numbers.
The same holds true for using the Alphabet key.
Conclusion
The information included in this monograph should not be the end, but only the beginning in your reading about giving cold readings.
I cannot recommend too strongly the need to read the other authors listed.
Also, please keep in mind these clues toward lines to use with your clients are only that - clues! Pay close attention to everything your client tells you.
It is their ego that needs to be soothed, not yours.
I sincerely hope you have enjoyed this first monograph of a series in cold reading.
Best Wishes, F.L.Crouter
